About Bolle Sunglasses
Despite their ultra-modern design, Bolle sunglasses celebrated their one hundredth birthday way back in 1988, with the brand going from strength to strength in the 118 years they've been around.
Bolle are primarily involved in the manufacture of specialist sports and safety glasses. They make sunglasses for everyone from skiers to the military and their safety googles and protective eyewear are what has made the brand famous.
With lightweight, shatterproof lenses, flexible hydralon frames (which, Bolle claim, are virtually indestructible) and advanced lens technology, these are serious sunglasses, for serious sportsmen and women. They're also pretty stylish too, so even if sport isn't really your thing, a great pair of Bolle sunglasses could be just the thing for the beach or poolside.
Bolle Lenses
The lenses in Bolle sunglasses have been specially designed to offer the maximum protection from glare. The "modulator" lens used in many styles has been specially designed to adapt to the different light conditions a wearer may encounter in a day, so no matter whether you find yourself in bright sunglight or slightly duller weather, your lenses will be just right.
Like the lenses used in Nike sunglasses Bolle have also created lenses specifically designed for different sports. There's a tennis lens, a golf lens, and other lenses for driving and water sports. Although most people who buy sunglasses make the assumption that one lens fits all, and that as long as their glasses have the appropriate level of UV protection they're be suitable for any purpose, tennis players and golfers encounter slightly different light conditions when they play, making Bolle lenses a good choice.
Bolle lenses also come in a wide range of different colors, with thirty different shades available on the Bolle website alone. Although each color has a different purpose, and different colors are suitable for different kinds of use, if you're choosing sunglasses for fashion rather than sport, the choice on offer makes Bolle sunglasses a lot of fun to wear.
Frames
The frames used on Bolle sunglasses have special shock absorption tips, which gives them added adhesion – very important if you're playing sport, as the last thing you want is for your sunglasses to go flying off your face! The frames also have wire-core temple tips which are fully adjustable, allowing you to customise the fit of your glasses, making them as comfortable as possible.
The nylon frames are also extremely lightweight and flexible, which is another important consideration for anyone choosing sunglasses to wear whilst playing sport. Finally, spring hinges and adjustable nose pads add to the comfort factor of these stylish frames!
Like the lenses, Bolle frames come in such a wide choice of colors that you can find a pair to match every outfit.
Bolle Goggles
Bolle also make goggles, which are ideal for safety purposes, or for sports such as skiing. It was goggles like these that made Bolle's name, and they're still one of the premier manufactures of goggles in the world. The goggles come with polarised lenses, anti-scratch surfaces, and are designed to fit over your prescription sunglasses and over your helmet if necessary.
The company also have a small range of prescription spectacles, allowing you to gain all the benefits of Bolle in your day-to-day glasses, too.
Where to Buy Bolle Sunglasses
Although you can browse the different styles on offer at the Bolle website, you won’t be able to order your glasses online there. Instead, visit these online retailers:
Comments
Kellie, try contacting the retailer you bought the sunglasses from first, but if that doesn't work, Bolle's contact information and some warranty information is at Sunglasses Internationale.
