Chrome Hearts Sunglasses
From LoveToKnow Sunglasses
If you're looking for a new set of shades, Chrome Hearts sunglasses may be just what the doctor ordered for summer. They are available in several frame shapes and lens colors so you can make just the statement you desire, assuming that statement has something to do with edgy glamour.
About Chrome Hearts Sunglasses
These styles, part of OSA International, could prove hard to find, but if you get your hands on a pair, you probably won't be sorry. They're sold in only a few locations around the world; the rest of us are left to our own devices and worldwide auction sites.
The sunglasses are fun and pretty eclectic. There are also ophthalmic styles to choose from, as well. The sunglasses have names like:
- Back Door, an aviator style ready to impress any rock star; color combinations include neutral white gold/mahogany, matte black/black, matte black/ebony, shiny silver/black/pink, and shiny silver/burgundy/pink
- Deviant I, a somewhat simple style from the front with unexpected leather for fun on the sides. This pair ( the shiny black/cheetah leather one in particular) almost seems inspired by the mullet—business in the front, party on the sides. Choose from black, white, gold, or silver for the front, and cheetah, brown, white, black, and camo leather on the sides (see the OSA International site for specific combinations available.
- Disfunctional, the Chrome Hearts own take on big sunglasses, also uses leather on the legs. The frame area is more oval-shaped than that of the Deviant I, though, and there are new patterns to consider, such as brown stripes and black and pink combinations.
Classic Elite, a simple, smallish aviator style with colored lenses available in a thin silver frame, belongs on the face of any Elvis fan. The gold pair with white leather and rose-colored lenses in particular scream "white jump suit." Planning a trip to Vegas? Sport these there. And everywhere else, for that matter, because they're gorgeous. Other color combinations include shiny silver/iris leather with purple lenses, matte black/camouflage frame with amber lenses, shiny silver/orange leather with pale amber lenses, shiny silver/black leather with gray lenses, and dark brown/light brown with smoke-colored lenses.
Styles are designed to be form-fitting so they never look out of place on your face. They offer flex bridge systems and hidden hinges for a seamless look.
Look No Further; Shop These Stores
You're most likely going to have to shop online or over the phone to find these sunglasses. You may find yourself scouring the pages of eBay just to find that perfect pair. Why? Chrome Hearts aren't as ubiquitous as, say, Ralph Lauren. They are sold in five US cities to include: Honolulu, Las Vegas, Malibu, Los Angeles, and New York. In Asia, you can find them in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Harajuku, and Osaka. Believe it or not, there's only one city—Paris—that has Chrome Hearts sunglasses. Check the Chrome Hearts website for addresses and details. The glasses are not available for purchase from the site.
You can also see the sunglasses and ophthalmic collections at: OSA International. Contact them at 800-647-2345 for more information on their Chrome Hearts sunglasses. Prices and details are not listed on their website.
Pricing
On eBay, Chrome Hearts styles are set to start a bit above $500.00. Some styles start in the $650.00 range. If this gives you the idea to sell the pair you already have but never wear, look a bit more closely before designing your listing. The ones that allow users to bid rather than just "Buy It Now" don't always have bids beside them. The ones that do tend to be hit-or-miss. One without a reserve may have only an $80.00 bid while another has 20 bids and has made it to $550.00. Still a third may have one hour to go and no bids. It just depends upon the style of sunglasses you have (and a little eBay guru in your pocket wouldn't hurt, either, so you know when and how to list them).
Even at eBay prices of $500 and up, you'll be getting a deal. The Abejas Boutique lists a pair for $949.00. Again, the glasses are not available for purchase on the Abejas website.
