D & G Sunglasses

From LoveToKnow Sunglasses

Behind the Frames and Lenses

D & G Sunglasses, the shortened version of Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses (and the more casual line), started in Italy. The designers first introduced the Dolce & Gabbana line to the United States in a Houston boutique. Since then, the clothes—and the D & G sunglasses—have gone global. Dolce and Gabbana have recently split romantically, but continue to embrace their passion for design together.

Sexy and traditional in style, D & G sunglasses aim to please both men and women. If glamorous 1940s Hollywood were to pick one style of sunglasses that summed them up completely, those would be D & G sunglasses. They’re dark and mysterious, often big and sexy. They’re never overdone. Again, D & G sunglasses are not as fancy or expensive as the main line, but you won’t be disappointed.

The pluses to D & G sunglasses include their ready-to-wear status and their relative affordability. They’re the Dolce and Gabbana line that the rest of us—without Hollywood jobs—can more easily purchase. Those styles start around $150; that’s half the price of the more upscale Dolce and Gabbana eyewear.

Where to Find D & G Sunglasses

Check your local optical shops, as well. This line seems to be a bit more under the radar than others, so you may have to inquire specifically about this spinoff brand of well-known designers.

Styles to Choose From

D & G sunglasses are available in men’s and women’s styles. They’re not as encrusted with rhinestones as the Dolce and Gabbana line, but they’re just as beautiful in their own way. They’re also a bit more on the sporty side.

D & G sunglasses seem a bit hard to find, so here are a few to get you started:

You can get your traditional DD 3004 style of sporty sunglasses in four different color combinations. The great thing about these is they’ll go with just about everything. They’re not overly athletic-looking, nor are they too glamorous for everyday wear.

If you are looking for something bigger and more fabulous than your average pair of frames, look into the dark tortoise 6006B style. It’s very retro and very feminine. Very "Jackie O." They’re also versatile enough to go with jeans and a button-up, or a Chanel suit made with the 1960s fashions in mind.

Here is another simple pair, available in three colors, and ready to take you anywhere. They’re sleek and sophisticated without being showy. They flaunt the class of European design.

These are a lot flashier than your average designer sunglasses. With a blue frame and oversized pink lenses, you’re sure to get noticed!

Buying at Auction Sites

Don’t forget to check out sites like eBay. Quite a few sellers have D & G sunglasses listed on the auction site. You may be able to snag a pair for just a little bit of money! Never forget to do your homework, though. Research the style number the seller has listed, and also look at their feedback. Cheap designer sunglasses are enough to make you want to click right away and enter your credit card number, but take a deep breath and read before you pay.
