Eagle Eye Sunglasses
From LoveToKnow Sunglasses
The Name and the Technology
The name Eagle Eye sunglasses isn't just a name chosen because it sounded cool and catchy. The company actually uses technology to mimic the protection that birds—like eagles and hawks—have naturally on their eyes to protect them from the sun while they're flying high above the trees. Humans aren’t the only animals susceptible to damaging their eyes by exposure to the sun.
How the Birds Do It
Want sight like a bird? Eagle Eye glasses won't correct your vision, but they'll allow you to work the best you can with what you have by blocking harmful rays and vision-compromising glare. Eagles and other birds have natural protection from the sun in the form of an oil inside their eyes. That oil filters out the UV rays and prevents the damage from occurring. That oil only allows in the rays that assist the birds' vision. And that's it!
Eagle Eye sunglasses have utilized the knowledge and expertise of NASA scientists and engineers to incorporate a similar phenomenon in their sunglass lenses. The lenses actually have three filters:
- One blocks nearly 100% of UV rays
- One blocks glare
- One blocks the short wavelengths of light that don't assist vision and can cause vision problems
Buying Eagle Eye Sunglasses
Eagle Eye styles boast functionality and practicality rather than trends and fashion-consciousness. That's not to say they're old-fashioned, out-of-date, or just look boring. They offer clip-ons, goggle styles, aviators, and wraparounds in styles for men and women.
Why UV Rays Are Your Enemy
When you're outdoors playing sports, walking in the park, lying in the sun for relaxation, or just dashing to and from your car on errands, the sun is doing its work on your body, including your eyes if you leave them uncovered. Skin cancer dangers are finally making it to the forefront and everyone is urged to wear sunscreen of at least SPF 15 or 30 for daily activity, but what we don't hear enough about is our eye care.

Benefits of the Lenses
If you've ever had to drive to work in the early hours of the day during the winter months (who hasn't, right?), you know how horrible—and dangerous—the glare can get. You can't know for sure if there's another car coming as you turn left at an intersection.
Driving at dusk during the summer wearing black, black lenses you bought to block that same glare? Again, not good. You won't have enough contrast to react quickly enough to things that dart into your path as you make your way down the highway.
Eagle Eye allows you to cut the glare of the winter mornings, and offer light enough lenses to keep you safe when the sun's going down but still shining in your eyes.
Get clearer images with more contrast. It could save your life or the life of someone (or something) else.
From a vanity point of view, Eagle Eye will keep your crows' feet at bay. Why? Well, two reasons: you won't squint as much and your eyes will be protected from skin-wrinkling UV rays (especially effective in the wraparound styles—and those styles fit over prescription eyewear).
