Lenses

Your lenses depend on your prescription. Eyemasters professionals work with your individual needs when deciding on the lenses to use in your frames. They offer multiple choices in single and multi-vision lenses including:

  • Single Vision
  • Bifocals
  • Trifocals
  • Progressives lenses

The kind of lenses you need depends on your lifestyle. Before deciding on your lenses, professionals will ask you the following questions:

  • Do you spend five or more hours in front of the computer each day?
  • Do you spend most of your day in the sun and need extra protection from it’s rays?
  • Do your eyes need extra protection from your work environment or sports?
  • When do you drive most, day or night?
  • How much time do you spend reading or staring at numbers?

Their goal is to “give you the highest visual acuity while providing an aesthetic appeal.”

Materials

Eyemaster stores only use the best materials in their lenses.

EV 4.0

Trivex Material is the lightest lens material available. It is impact resistance and works great for children and adults with active lives. This lens also provides the highest optical performance next to the natural eye.

Slimlite

Polycarbonate Materials are thinner and lighter than regular plastic lenses which makes them more cosmetically appealing. These lenses offer numerous benefits including:

CR-39

The most popular material used in making lenses is plastic. The benefits include:

  • Lighter weight
  • Thinner than glass lenses
  • Provides good optical clarity
High Index

High index lenses are good for those with stronger prescriptions. They reduce eye magnification for patients who are farsighted. This material is compatible with most frame options.

Glass

Glass was the first material used in making lenses. It is heavy and easily breakable. Newer technology is making glass a weaker option.

One Hour Service

If your glasses broke and you need a new pair quick, Eyemasters offers one hour service in most of their locations.

History

Eyemasters is owned by Eye Care Centers of America, Inc (ECCA). Corporate opened their first store in 1984 and now own over 375 locations under 11 different brand names. ECCA is located in Texas.
