The Style of Gucci Sunglasses

Gucci sunglasses are made for those who like a sleek, sophisticated image with a high-class edge. The styles follow trends to a degree, but are also timeless. This eyewear is known for its quality as well as its style. That means they're perfect for those who just wear sunglasses for practical reasons, as well as those who wear them for image purposes. They're quite popular among the old and young alike, males and females.

Who Wears Gucci?

In 2001, recent The Omen star Julia Stiles wore Gucci sunglasses (style 1634S) to the MTV Music Awards. Recently, Lindsay Lohan and the Olsen twins have been spotted sporting Guccis.

According to SearchWarp.com, Gucci sunglasses are adored by men and women of Hollywood alike, from Gwyneth Paltrow to Jack Nicholson, John Wayne to Sophia Loren.

Where to Find Them

  • Salivating for the latest collection, no matter what the price? The Sunglasses Portal has what you need. Right now they have large frames, wraparound styles and lenses in shades like amber, lilac and gray.
  • You can also check eBay but, as always, be cautious when you're shopping and purchasing. Read the reviews and make sure you're getting what you think you're getting.

Replicas of Designer Sunglasses

Every now and then, a girl just wants a pair of designer knockoffs rather than dropping her whole paycheck on the real thing. That's where well-made replicas come in.

  • TheSunglassManOnline has a larger selection, so you're likely to find something you can't live without here, if you're a Gucci sunglasses fiend. Check out these that compare to Gucci's Bel Air. The copper lenses give them extra punch.
  • DesignersReplica.com has quite a few Gucci look-alikes. Especially sexy, funky and Hollywood ready is the Aurora's Glow Style with pink lenses in a black frame. The best news? They provide protection against high UV indexes and they're under $20.00!

A Little More About Guccio Gucci Himself

Guccio Gucci started out in Italy as a talented craftsman with a fabulous reputation. What did he work on? Not sunglasses at first--not even suits. He got his start working with leather at his family-owned saddle and leather goods shop. Later, in 1938, finally opened a boutique in Rome, a smart move for a man with his eye for style. His first fashion "Eureka!" was a bamboo-handled handbag, which can still be spotted in the Gucci line today. Gucci actually died in 1953, leaving the company to his sons, who almost drove it to bankruptcy at the end of the 1970s.

It's been a bumpy ride for Gucci, soaring to the heights of Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O and Grace Kelly's closets, only to plummet to the depths of a reputation for tackiness in the 1980s. Since the 1980s, Gucci has picked itself up, brushed itself off and taken its place back as one as the hottest lines on the planet. Gucci sunglasses are no exceptions. They're finding themselves perched on some of the best-known noses in the world.
