LensCrafters
From LoveToKnow Sunglasses
We have all heard about LensCrafters and how they pride themselves on quality and fast service. But how fast are they, and what level of quality do you really receive? Also, how do they rate in the sunglass world?
The History Of LensCrafters
How They Began
LensCrafters was founded in 1983, and was the first company to offer eye exams and frame selection in one location. This may seem pretty unbelievable since everyone does this today, but back in the 80s, LensCrafters was a revolutionary. They were also the first to make most of the glasses on-site and offer a one-hour turnaround time. How's that for fast service?
Getting Trendy
Much as SuperCuts is not exactly the creme de la creme of the haircut world, LensCrafters has battled with their reputation for not being stylish and up to date with their frames and other products. In 1995, this changed. Italian eyewear company Luxottica acquired the lens corporation in 1995. Now LensCrafters offers a wide selection of trendy eyewear designed in the Italian way. Italians know their fashion!
Who They Are Today
Currently, the 850 locations available in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico offer a broad range of styles in sunglasses, eyeglasses, and watches. People rely on them to be an efficient, cost-effective resource to top off their daily look with a little style and spunk!
What They Offer
Savings
The company website offers coupons which make frames affordable, whether you are are looking for regular eyeglasses or sunglasses. You can also use their offers on multiple pairs at a time. It's a great deal--especially when you get your shades the same day.
FeatherWates(c)
New prescription sunglasses called FeatherWates(c) were all the rage this summer and continue to sell effectively at most LensCrafters locations. These sunglasses over up to 50% more sun protection than other lenses, and 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays.
Because of this technology, you are protected against a fair amount of premature wrinkling around the eyes.
Another cool thing about the FeatherWates(c) is the fact that they are 10 times more shatter-resistant than most other sunglasses. They are polarized for the glare reduction, and you can have improved vision on even overcast days if you need prescription lenses.
Is There a Downside?
Some have complained that LensCrafters have given them poor quality (scratched lenses, for example), and that they feel like a dime a dozen with their services. While it is great to get inexpensive glasses, they have also been accused of having out-of-date frames. However, others are crazy about LensCrafters with their low cost and quick turn around time. The positives definitely seem to outweigh the negatives when it comes to this company.
So go check out LensCrafters if you are a busy mom without a lot of time to get your near-sighted kids hooked up with new shades. Pay them a visit if you are looking for prescription or non-prescription sunglasses for yourself. Stop by if you need regular glasses in a jiffy.

I'm interesting in taking advantage of your latest promotion, however I do not know where your locations are. I live in Woodbridge, Vaughan ("The city above Toronto")- could you email me your locations. Are you in any of the malls -- if so, which ones?
Thanks, Emanuela Polin-De Luca
