Oakley Goggle Styles

Here are a few of the top Oakley goggles for snow, dirt biking, and water sports. Please check with Oakley.com to view an extensive listing of all goggles. There are 69 models to choose from, not including the various color combinations and special features available.

Wisdom Goggles

These Oakley goggles run roughly between $95.00 and $130.00. They're available in the following color combinations:

  • Matte black/persimmon
  • Satin silver/persimmon
  • Matte black/HI blue
  • Primer/persimmon
  • Primer/HI blue
  • Khaki/persimmon

IRIDIUM® lenses will enhance the contrast as you make your way down the slopes and help prevent glare. Polarized lenses are also available on this model.

The Wisdom model will protect your eyes from UVA, UVB, and UVC rays. In addition, they'll offer you superb visual clarity from all angles, including down and to the sides. Want a great fit? Thanks to the swivel pivoting strap, the three-layer polar fleece face foam, and the 3-D facial contour.

O Frame Goggles for Snow

These Oakley goggles work to keep your downward and side views unobstructed while they prevent fog from collecting inside the lenses and ruining your visual clarity. The lenses are also scratch resistant and they also offer 100 percent of the UV protection you need thanks to optically pure PLUTONITE®.

Available colors include:

  • Blue to clear fade/persimmon
  • Green camo/persimmon
  • Yellow/persimmon
  • Electric blue/persimmon
  • Green/persimmon

The persimmon lenses are designed for low light conditions, like on overcast days.

You can also find the O Frame in an MX style under the Dirt section of the Oakley website.

Crowbar Snow

This version of Oakley goggles runs about $175.00. Here is an abbreviated list of the color combinations available:

  • Carbon Fiber/H.I. Amber
  • Matte Black/Grey
  • Matte White/VR28
  • Matte Black/H.I. Amber
  • Matte white/H.I. amber

The lenses are polarized on this model and the Crowbar Snow's design offers moisture-wicking qualities and a fantastic fit.

Please note that there is also an MX version of this goggle.

MX L Frame Goggles

The MX styles are the Oakley goggles meant for dirt biking. The L Frame will cost you about $35.00 and is available in these colors:

  • Metallic Blue/Clear
  • Metallic Red/Clear
  • Carbon Fiber/Clear
  • Silver/Clear
  • Black/Clear

What these do to protect your eyes and keep you comfortable is to fit over your prescription eyeglasses (so you don't have to worry about contact lens complications while you're on the trail!). It's compatible with the ATFM half mask. The description on the Oakley website states that you get "flexible urethane construction, a non-slip silicone treated strap, triple-layer face foam with moisture wicking, and the clarity of an optically pure LEXAN® lens."

H2O™ and H2O™L Goggles

There are two goggle styles available from Oakley when it comes to water activities. Both start around $37.00. They offer UV protection, reduced glare, and they promise to be comfortable without inhibiting your downward or peripheral vision.

Colors available in the H2O™ model include:

  • Carbon Fiber/Grey
  • True Carbon Fiber/Grey
  • Black/Black Iridium
  • Black/Grey
  • Crystal Blue/Grey
  • Silver/Grey

The H2O™L model is available in two color combinations: Carbon Fiber/Black Iridium and Carbon Fiber/Grey. If you'll be in bright light, choose the black lenses; if you'll be in dimmer light, choose grey.

The L version has the scratch resistant LEXAN® lens and is the only one that will fit over prescription eyewear.

When to Use Goggles

Snow Sports

When you're out skiing down the slopes, you'll need eye protection for various reasons. You're up higher, plus you're surrounded by the reflective snow, so UV protection is a must. In addition to that, you'll want something between you and tree branches or other pieces of flying debris you may encounter.

Dirt Biking

Oakley's MX line of goggles is great for dirt biking. You can choose from a large number of lens colors to best fit your needs based on the trails you frequently travel and the light conditions when you do. They're designed to be some of the most comfortable goggles on the market and offer impact resistance, fog prevention, and the Iridium® Lens Coating, which is designed to reduce glare, make objects appear sharper and clearer, and improve depth perception.

Water Activities

Being out on the water combines the glare from the sun and the reflected light from the water. You'll need UV protection as well as something to reduce glare. Oakley has two types of goggles for water activities, the H2O™ and the H2O™L mentioned above. Be sure to order the right set for your needs. The L frame fits over prescription eyewear and the regular H2O™ frame does not.

The Oakley Technology

Oakley's well known for being on top of the game when it comes to eyewear. Goggles are no exception. Here are some of the things you'll find within the Oakley collection:

Iridium® Lens Coating: Mentioned earlier, this coating is designed to reduce glare and increase clarity no matter what type of light conditions you're in.

Anti-Fog: Oakley's site states that some of their anti-fog goggles can absorb a minimum of 2 ml of water. All of the goggles that utilize their F2 technology can keep haze at bay.

Impact Protection: Oakley does extensive impact protection testing so that your eyes will be as safe as possible while you're staying active.
