Reading Sunglasses
From LoveToKnow Sunglasses
Like the great outdoors? Like to read? Don't like the glare on your page when you're reading in the great outdoors? Then reading sunglasses are precisely what you need so that you can enjoy nature and a novel at the same time.
What Are Reading Sunglasses?
Quite simply, reading sunglasses minimize glare while still allowing you to read through the tinted lenses. People who spend a lot of time at the pool, or driving, or fly-fishing will find these sunglasses useful, as they make it possible to focus on very delicate motions while protecting your eyes from bright sunlight.
There are two basic types of reading sunglasses: tinted reading glasses and bifocal sunglasses. The tinted reading glasses are available in various strengths, just like regular reading glasses. Bifocal sunglasses feature magnifying glass on the bottom of the lens, and plain glass on the upper part of the lens. Many manufacturers make reading sunglasses with UV protection and polarization.
Magnification?
Like regular reading glasses, sun readers magnify print for easier reading. The most common magnifications are +1.0 to +3.0, in one-quarter power increments (i.e., +1.25, +1.5, +1.75).
To determine what magnification you need for your reading sunglasses, simply determine what magnification works best for you in regular reading glasses. Usually, that same magnification will work well in sun readers.
