Wrangler Sunglasses
From LoveToKnow Sunglasses
Wrangler's not just a blue jean brand—there are Wrangler sunglasses too! They're available in men's and women's styles. Since the Gargoyles brand makes the sunglasses for Wrangler, you know their standards are high.
The Styles: Wrangler Sunglasses
You may think Wrangler sunglasses come in just cowboy styles for the down and dirty rodeo. That's not the case, as a Google search for the brand will prove. You can get styles in all shapes and quite a few colors. Don't expect anything like the styles of Lulu Guinness' pastel pink cat eye glasses with white polka dots, but don't think that Wranglers limit you to simple black aviators, either. Need some examples? Here you are:
- Carson: This pair is the epitome of classic sunglasses. Squared-off ovals with brown, smoke, or charcoal lenses, they're nearly universally flattering. Expect to pay between $14.95 and $19.95. The Duster is similar, but aviator-style. There's a copper frame with bronze lenses and a midnight blue frame with charcoal lenses. They're available for $19.95.
- Montana: This is a combination of a black frame and blue mirrored lenses, and great for the sports enthusiast. They're $14.95.
Hard to Find?
Wrangler eyeglass frames are far easier to pin down than the sunglasses are. Don't forget that you can choose a pair of regular frames and have lenses—even without a prescription—tinted and UV protected. Polarized lenses are even available.
If you're looking for specific sunglasses, you have a couple of options:
- Search online. Not many websites carry Wranglers, but you may get lucky.
- Contact your local optical shop. The buyer may be able to order the pair you want even if they don’t normally carry the Wrangler brand.
Frames Only
Since Wrangler sunglasses prove challenging to find at times, here are some regular frames to choose from. If you order a pair online and don't have them tinted and UV protected ahead of time, you can take them to your local optical shop and have it done. If you have a one-hour shop, you can easily have them tinted and back in your hands as a jiffy.
- Frames Direct has Wrangler frames like the large aviator-style Dylan and the Mitch. They would make excellent sunglasses since the frame size is on the large side.
- Go Optic has a selection of Wrangler frames, too. They're a bit pricier than the sunglasses that are available as-is, but if you're a devout Wranglers fan or you need prescription sunwear anyway, these are still an option.
- The Eye Doctor doesn't seem to carry Wrangler sunglasses, but they do have frames from the brand. Prices run from about $74.00 to $84.00.
An Overview
Since the early days of western attire, Wrangler's been a household name. Now you can wear it on your face for an incredibly reasonable price. The price range is roughly $15.00-$20.00.
Gargoyles designs Wrangler's sunglasses and holds them to their own standards. That means you get 100% UVA, UVB, and UVC protection for your eyes and the surrounding skin (who wants wrinkles?). Lenses are generally made of polycarbonate, which means they're lightweight and safer than both glass and plastic. Instead of shattering, they'll simply crack in a spider web pattern.
More from Wrangler
Wrangler sunglasses are not easy to find. If you visit the Wrangler website, you'll see much more about the types of blue jeans and, surprisingly, home furnishings.
When you do track down your coveted pair of easy-wear Wrangler glasses (in whichever form you choose—sunglasses or eyeglasses), be sure to check out some of their other lines. If you like their eyewear styles, chances are you'll like their blue jeans, work clothes (for those rugged careers), and even their sportswear for fishermen, hunters, and other outdoorsmen.
However you decide to get your hands on some Wrangler style, make sure you flaunt the casual self-confidence that should go with them.
